LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP

In 2025, I am excited to announce the launch of a transformative conversation centered on Women of Colour as Strategic Leaders. This initiative developed by the University of Suffolk and Anglia Ruskin University with Suffolk Constabulary, is set to empower participants.

The leadership workshops, curated by Dr. Mirna Guha, Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Anglia Ruskin University, and Dr. Katherine Allen, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Social Justice and Crime, University of Suffolk, will feature national experts in policies and practices.

The training program is based on the research co-led by Dr. Guha and Dr. Allen, titled “‘Nothing About Us Without Us’: Investigating the Impact of the Leadership of Ethnic Minority Women on Domestic Abuse Service Provision in East England.” It is supported by the VISION (Violence, Health, Society) Consortium and the UKPRP through a Medical Research Council Grant (Ref: MR/V049879/1).

This workshop would be great for racialized, culturally diverse, and/or migrant women working across statutory and voluntary sectors who could contribute to this empowering conversation. The workshop will nurture your leadership journey. Superintendent Jasvinder Kaur will provide the keynote address. Her work as a Strategic Lead in Suffolk Constabulary and as the founder of the National Women of Colour in Policing (NWoCiPUK) network is a testament to the power of women of colour in policing, inspiring others to realize their potential and build on the legacy of pioneers who have come before.

The final workshop session will center on reflecting upon your own leadership journey, aspirations, and approaches, as you engage in a reflective exercise to map and contemplate your unique experiences and future goals.
